Protective effect of MAK to the brain cells of rats with diabetes
 
It is known that brain infarction become more serious in diabetic patient than a healthy person. Therefore, the protective effect of MAK to brain cells was examined. The type 1 diabetic rats induced with drug administration were divided into 2 groups. One group was given once a day orally feed with MAK (1 g/Kg) for 2 weeks, and others was given feed with water instead of MAK. Then, brain infarction was artificially induced to 2 groups. Protective effect against brain cells and reduction of encephalopathy with MAK was investigated. As a result of TTC staining, the formation of brain infraction net was markedly inhibited in the group given with MAK.
